Harvest-Harvest-Harvest

My harvest lull appears to be over. This week the garden produced a nice harvest. The  last of the garlic came out (last week) and most of the onion is out. They are now all hanging in the garage. I had a few other things that were used immediately.

As exciting as this past week was, the next few weeks look even more exciting. There is a lot more one the way, but for now...I'll give you a sneek peek at what will be harvest first's for us. As we have never grown any of the items below. Well, we have grown beans, just not shell beans: Rattlesnake and Cherokee Trail of Tears. It may be a while before these come out because we want them to dry on the vine.

There are plenty more harvests to enjoy over at Daphne's Dandelions Harvest Monday!

  1. The harvest week definitely was not a "lull" for you! your photo collages are interesting and give a nice overview.

  2. I love the way you show off your harvests. The collages are great! My favorite pictures are the pesto and the garlic drying in the garage, but all of them are really interesting.

  3. Wow lots of stuff coming up for you! I'm still in a 'hungry gap' with not much to harvest. But I'm taking notes so I can correct things for next year!

  4. Love it! The beans and taters is something I'm doing with mine this coming week. I've got some creamers out of the last batch I dug that will be perfect with the last of my green beans. :-)

  7. Wow, your garden is bursting with stuff! I'm still bringing things in by the ounce, but then I don't have many plants, either. I've got to figure out how to get more sun without cutting down a tree!

Those beans and potatoes look so good!

  8. Looks like you had a nice and diverse harvest. Love the combination of green beans and potatoes. I also never thought of drying celery- good to know.

  9. Rattlesnake is my absolute favorite 'green' bean. Great raw as a baby bean, or a bit bigger with dip or in a stir fry. I also freeze bags for winter use. I tried them once as a shelling bean and they didn't have much flavor. If you keep them picked they keep producing, but once you stop picking, they put their efforts into maturing seed and stop blooming.
