Fast Tracking of GMO Crops

Since when does the government do anything fast? Now USDA wants to fast track approvals of GMOs. I am still researching the advantages and disadvantages of GMOs myself. However, I do have a few problems with these GMOs.

1. Unintended Consequences - we already see the creation of superweeds and superpests. Life evolves and will adjust to anything these GMOs throw at them.

2. Genetic Diversity - these crops decrease genetic diversity. Genetic diversity protects a 'race' from distinction. If we were all genetically the same, one virus would wipe us all out. Same with vegetable crops.

3. Contamination - these GMO crops have been shown to contaminate nearby organic or nonGMO crops. There should be stricter guidelines in place to stop/reduce this contamination before more GMOs are allowed into the marketplace.
