Two Heads are Better than One

I have finally had another broccoli plant produce a head of broccoli. It was injured slightly by a frost which turned it slightly purple; but none the less I finally got another head of broccoli.

It isn't as big as my first head was; only slightly larger than an apple. But perhaps this is a sign that my broccoli growing days are looking brighter.

However, this week, I enjoyed a nonedible garden harvest that has really excited me!

  1. Lucky you enjoying some broccoli! I just started the seeds for the spring crop of broccoli so we are a long ways away from enjoying the first harvest yet. I used up the last of the frozen broccoli a while ago so we have been without for a while and will be for a time yet to come. It is one of my favorite vegetables so it is always sorely missed until it comes back in season again.

  2. Gotta love home grown broccoli! My first attempt wasn't wildly successful, but I think I might give it another go...especially since your broccoli days are looking up :-)

  8. I see some tiny (quarter size) shoots beginning to come on mine. But I have serious doubts it will be a decent year for broccoli at my place...

  10. Hooray for broccoli! It is one of my favorite veggies. Mine took forever to start producing, so you should have more on its way.

  12. Looks yummy! I had a great big head - the only one. And I left it for a couple of days and come back and it was all yellow flowers. But it couldn't produce seeds because the frost killed it. Next time I will know better!
